Deadline for submitting comments: Thursday, May 7, 2009 The Bicycle Facility Program The Bicycle Facility Program (BFP) is a grant program that provides funding to reduce motor vehicle emissions through the implementation of new bicycle facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Funding for the BFP is provided by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District's (Air District’s) Transportation Fund for Clean Air. The BFP supports the implementation of bicycle projects through a streamlined process in which qualified projects are eligible to receive funding, up to a maximum grant amount based on the proposed project type. Grant awards are made primarily on a first-come first-served basis, utilizing a simplified grant application and evaluation procedure. Can Apply? Eligible Projects The following new bicycle facilities can be constructed / installed with BFP funding:
